A lot of online nursing programs have classes related to critical care such as Penn State online.
Also, if you look into the hospitals around you, especially teaching hospitals you might find that they have critical care courses that are actually for nurses planning to transition into the critical care role.
Essentials of Critical Care Nursing by AACN
Nursing Excellence Training (NEXT) by MED-ED
These are the two I am aware of. I don't think it's possible to purchase these as an individual, but I'm not sure. The thing about them is that if you get a job in critical care, it's possibly going to require one or the other of them. My full time job requires ECCO for people who haven't done critical care, and I even had to complete the NEXT modules as an experienced nurse at my PRN job, and doing these things twice would absolutely suck because doing them once is bad enough.
You might just want to start applying for critical care positions. The hospitals will have their own personal resources that they use to train people new to critical care.
Thanks so much for your response @ RN403 I'll check into Penn State online and ive heard about essentials of critical care of nursing do you think its worth investing in @ calivianya, BSN, RN
