Nurses Criminal

i live in san antonio, tx and i have prior convictions. i was convicted for theft as an adult and assault with bodliy injury when i was a juvenile. i had to hire a lawyer to seal my juvenile record and for the adult case he was able to do a non-disclosure. which was a pain in the ass cause you really have to wait a longer so i would jump on that as quick as possible. it also cost alot of money. i thought i was done so i applied to a college in my city that carries the nursing program, i got accepted but was later told i could not longer continue with the program. the college that i applied to sent me a later stating that i would have do a declaratory petiton to see if i could take NCLEX-RN examination with the tbon. with that being said i had to hire another lawyer to represent me with this. so i was unable to attend the spring term but i am now currently enrolled in the fall term of this year and start in oct. as for the lincense part i just need fill out this form PETITION FOR DECLARATORY ORDER 8 weeks befor taking the NCLEX-RN examination.

sorry to hear about your case. I think conviction means that the judge thinks you are guilty while charges are different ,charges can be dismissed as in my case.

did you call TX bon? Why the school will discontinue your study for the spring semester ,that sounds weird to me. because i do not know why the school has the authority of doing so. it is nice to hearing that you can still write the examination and sit for the RN test and then get the license. Every body makes mistake , I really wish you good good luck in the future and in your career. god bless you !

I have moved these two posts to a thread of their own since you are addressing problems in TX. The previous thread was about TN issues.

A successful background check with the Texas BoN can take up to a year man, I just finished mine.
