Creighton University Phoenix ABSN

Published

Hi! I have been accepted into the Creighton University Accelerated BSN program at the Phoenix location for Spring '18 start date. I didn't see another thread out there for it. I was just wondering if anyone else out there has been accepted, applied or is planning to apply there.

I will be moving from California, so if there is any information on where to live in Phoenix, preferably near the school, that would be very helpful.

Wondering if anyone who has started the program, or completed it, can tell me the times that classes begin and end the first 8 weeks, and all when clinicals begin. I know the clinical schedule etc. but wondering if someone could give me a more day to day schedule. Like what time do you start on Monday, end, start on Tuesday, end. Etc. I’ll be starting in January 2020 and I’m just trying to find some idea of start and end times. Any info would help!!! Thanks

Kelina, I am in Omaha about to start preceptorship but I can tell you during first 8 weeks with Path/Pharm and health assessment there are no real clinical days. You do some community (aka school assessments) but plan to be in class Mon-Fri during the day and studying your butt off. No time for a job in this program. Full time student for 1 year. You will get a rough schedule in orientation but it will change with no notice as you go forward based on clinical sites and your assignment. I had OB rotations on Saturdays but not everyone did. It's worth it but definitely immersion for the year. Good luck!

KC2017,

yes I’m aware of the clinicals etc. but could you give me an idea those first eight weeks how the class times usually work? Are you in class from 8-5 Mon thru Friday? How about the days your not in clinical once those begin. I have a nanny and I’m trying to give her some idea of the future. Thanks.

our schedule was mon exams only 0900

tues 9-1300 wed 10-1650 thurs 1300-1550 fri 1000-1650

however, we often had to come in at 0800 or stay until 1700 for group rotations

that was fall 2018 cohort so things always change and those with kids had to often scramble

once clinicals start you will know schedule about 2 weeks prior as you get divided into groups and some have different days than others including maybe a Saturday. Some eventually will have clinicals that start late and end late too.

KC2017, Yes. I’ll be scrambling. But have plenty of help. Just trying to have a better idea of the times of classes etc. Would you mind telling me the times you are in class during the week once clinicals begin?

that's really all I can say as each group is different and I am in Omaha. You will have classes but those change all the time and are during the day so you can at least plan that. Take care

KC2017, what can you tell me about the 3-week and 2-week intensive courses? I am about to start my Fall 2019 term in Omaha and I just want to know roughly what to expect!

Intensives aren't bad...3 week is all classroom and 2 week is online. Its the 8 week classes that are intense!
