Creighton accelerated nursing program

Hello all:

I read some interesting advice re the cost of Creighton University's accelerated nursing program. I have another question: Is it really that intense? Right now I'm at a two-year college getting my science credits in hopes of qualifying for Creighton's accelerated nursing program. My anatomy professor said he knew someone who tried Creighton's program and "it almost killed her." Seriously? I really don't want to opt for a slower-paced and more traditional route; I don't have the time (I'm in my 40s) and I don't have the resources. Any opinions on this?

I wish I would have received some honest reviews about the program, before I started it. Anyone can get in here... and its not very difficult to pass. So if you want to go to somewhere where you can get in and know you will most likely pass, go to Creighton. The program is not challenging and requires a ton of bs busy work...On top of this and being completely disorganized... the program is a total rip off...

I was just accepted into this program for this Fall and I have spoken to about 5 RNs at my hospital that have nothing but great things to say! They said it was intense but well worth it, one of my CNA instructors went there as well and she said it was one of the best decisions she ever made. I'm going in with a positive attitude, everywhere has its ups and downs and we cannot base our experiences off of anyone elses. Good luck with the program to any that will be attending!

I completed the accelerated program at Creighton last year. LOVE IT! yes is "intense" but its absolutely wonderful. I was a transplant from California and only moved out there for school, and now im back in California. The classes are small and the cohort becomes your little family. The school has great connections with the local hospitals. The good reputation will help you get a job once you graduation. I highly recommend this program. The clinical opportunities were wonderful. I've had friends attend programs here in CA and hated it.

I am also a CA resident considering Creighton Accelerated BSN Program. Was it difficult to transfer your RN license back to CA in order to work? I'm not exactly sure how this works. Any advice would be great.

I was accepted for Spring 2015! I am from Ventura area in CA and trying to figure out if I should make the jump to Omaha for a year and then come back to CA after. How is the job market if you have your degree from out of state? What are the procedures so that I can start working right away in CA (regarding the NCLEX,license, etc)? I also have a 3 year old son (I am by myself) that will be coming with me so it will be a big move. Advice on places to live? Are there other single moms in the program that have gotten through it?

I'd be very interested in talking to you! I'm a single mom of a three year-old as well and am looking at starting at Creighton in the Fall, I'd be moving out from Oregon, so I'm sure you had a lot of the same concerns that I do. If you have time to talk about your experiences with housing, child care, etc. I'd love to talk to you!

HI there!

I am a complete transplant from CA and I am never going back, with Heaven's help. I just love it here in NE. I am wrapping up my NP preceptorship in Central NE but had some clinical hours at a surgical center in Omaha. I agree that the north-east part of the city resemble the South Bay or south east sections of LA, when it comes to crime and the potential for violence on the streets.

The rest of Omaha and across the river in IA offer very affordable housing opportunities. Good luck!

I have just been accepted into the accelerated BSN program at Creighton University and I wanted to know if I could ask you about the program since I am living and from California. I had read some bad reviews about this program stating that it is unorganized and confusing because they had up to 16 professors teaching the course. Also, in terms of living did you live on campus? Were the professors helpful if you needed extra help or were there tutoring services?
