I have always loved art and creative outlets growing up and wondered if it has a place in nursing? I won't be a bedside nurse forever.
I was thinking of maybe nurse educator creating sims/lessons etc and nurse researcher writing papers and creating studies? I looked into nurses who are "creative writers" writing med articles for magazines/online as well. Any other "creative nursing" jobs you can think of?

I'm so glad that you mentioned us (educators) in your first pass!!! Creativity is essential in our role. Right now, I'm working on developing a game to teach the basics of Value-Based Purchasing to staff nurses. I'm also responsible for instructional design - various delivery modalities, including on-line. I design & maintain Web/SharePoint sites.
But the aspect where creativity is most essential??? Trying to figure out how to accomplish learning outcomes when training and education are mere afterthoughts to a complex organizational initiative. Just like that famous line in the movie Waiting for Guffman: "So what I'm understanding here - correct me, if I'm wrong - is that you're not givin' me... any money... so now I'm left basically with nothin', I'm... left with ZERO, in which, in which, what can I do with zero, you know? What can I... I can't do ANYTHIN' with it! "

A few ideas:
Informatics
School nurse
Work on an under staffed unit (a lot of creativity needed)
Camp nurse at an arts camp
Psych nurse (some will let you run groups that incorporate art)
Research
Education
MRDD population

The possibilities are endless. There is a reason that we study the art and science of nursing.
