Doctor's verbal order: "Well, we could try giving a snootful of Demerol and see if we can get that pain under control". (Yes, I had to ask what, exactly, a 'snootful' consisted of......turned out to be 125mg IM. :rotfl: )

Verbal orders in settings where nurses have a lot of discretion, or giving report on pts with drips can get pretty informal :chuckle
"A taste of fentanyl"
"Just a social amount of morphine in that PCA"
(or, conversely,
"More than a social amount of neo")
"A boatload of lopressor"
"A jigger of haldol"
