Crazy to want to go back to school?!?

Hi everyone,

I love this site by the way. I am 37 and a stay at home mom of 3. My youngest will start kindergarten in 3 years and I really think when she does I want to go back to school and pursue something in the medical field. I have a degree in Finance and a minor in dance(haha) but have no interest in that route again.

The one thing I am sure of is that I want to work in obstetrics in someway....RN, LPN, sonographer.....

How do I figure out how to do all of this? Any advice would be helpful.

Thanks so much!

Hi and welcome,

I would check out the programs your local community colleges have to offer. In the meantime I'd definitely start taking a class here and there toward your pre-reqs to get your feet wet. Good luck!

I echo what the other poster said. Since it takes a long time to complete your pre-reqs, no harm in starting them as soon as you can. :)

Agree with the others. You could take one class at a time, slowly knock out the prereqs. Community colleges are great because they offer evening and online courses, so it can be really convenient for regular folks with kids and jobs and such.
