CPNRE June - July 2018

World Canada CRNE

Hey guys! I'm writing the CPNRE in a few days and I just wanted to create an updated CPNRE forum for 2018.

I've been studying the 4th and 5th prep guide and took the predictor test (disappointing results). I've been torturing myself that I will fail the exam and my peers will all pass. But I am trying to overcome the negative thoughts!!!

Let's share some tips and update on test results!

Did anyone who wrote the 27th in hamilton get there results yet?

Wrote in Toronto

Hey guys i checked mine too i passed

Congrats everyone for your results!

anyone get there results in hamilton?

I took the exam on June 30th. I had only 2 weeks of review because I am currently working at the same time. I have high hopes because I am a nurse with years of experience back in the Ph. But anxiety got the best out of me and got me worried that I might fail the exam. I just received the letter today. I PASSED. So guys, my tips to you. Pray and be confident! *Took the exam in Mississauga

Congratulations!!!

I unfortunately didnt pass. This I cant believe.. i'm not entirely crushed because I studied my ass off! I paid for a course in toronto, bought the books, met up with my girlfriends that also wrote. My friend failed the first time but the test isn't even hard, theres no math. Yes a little tricky, but i'm really surprised here guys.. I'm not spending money on a course again, not really sure what to do. Any words of wisdom? :(

I'm so sorry :( that really sucks. It's weird because you prepared so much... the exam really wasn't that hard. I would recommend going over the prep guides and buy the predictor test. Read all the rationales and understand why the correct answer is the right one. I only studied for two days and did both those things. I found the cpnre really similar to the prep guides and predictor test and even had questions that were the exact same. Once I understood the answer they were looking for I was confident. Review ADPIE, nursing diagnosis, ABCs, and therapeutic nurse client relationships. I'm confident you'll pass it the second time around.

Also if I'm not mistaken they will tell you the areas you struggled In. So make sure to really review those areas.

also... ASSESS UNLESS IN DISTRESS. you're a nurse, get your assessments before calling the doctor or doing anything else.. ADPIE. Unless of course they need immediate intervention.

I even did the predictor test the night before and got 77% I feel it was because I went back and changed a few answers. I shouldn't of done that. But yes, I will review the areas and get a bit more guidance from a tutor. The saunders cue cards worked really well because they offered a lot of practice questions which I did every chance I got. I was overly prepared, woke up early the day of, had a big breakfast etc. I studied for months.. lol

One friend said this one was easier and that some of them are harder then this. But I feel like in terms of difficulty the test stays the same, content might change. I had zero math, lab values or medication questions. Mainly maternity and mental health. Idk guys! Pray for me! :(
