World Canada CRNE

Published

Hi AllNurses :nurse:. I will be writing the CPNRE on January 2011. My study materials are:

-Mosby's Canadian Comprehensive Review of Nursing 2nd Edition and

-The Canadian PN Exam Prep Guide 3rd Edition.

To all test takers for January 2011 (hoping that I am not the only one here), please join and we'll support each other to stay on track and keep on going. To all other members who passed the exam or knowledgeable about the CPNRE, please give some inputs. Badly needed. Thank you.

A prayer to all of us, "Lord God, our Saviour, we are asking for your guidance for the upcoming CPNRE. Help us to comprehend what we are studying and give us wisdom to pass the exam. Please Lord. In Jesus Name, Amen".

Will always keep you posted :)

I am near Barrie. It's weird some of my classmates in town have their results, yet i don't. :( I sure hope it comes soon, the wait is really killing me.

Thanks Canadiangirl79 :) I hope your right waiting isn't one of my strong points. Congrats and all the best to you in your nursing career. How is your son doing? I send my wishes for a speedy recovery for him.

I suck at waiting too. Right now we are waiting for a diagnosis for my son, and for his liver enzymes to go down (they're currently over 2000!!). Thanks for your wishes, we are hoping they figure out what is going on soon, and that it's fixable. They've ruled out most common stuff, so now we're looking at the "rare" things.

I'm sure you're going to be a wonderful nurse, by the way! :) Hope your letter arrives bright and early Monday morning. :D

hi i got mine on 18th..thought i passed bt i'm so screwed and this was my second attempt..don't know what to do, don't want to write third time..i studied so hard and feeling so hopeless.

Happy for all of you & congrats to all of you who passed..cheers..pray for me, don't wanna give-up, had enough hard life

& also if anyone knows about hand-scoring, is it helpful??with the result there was a paper saying ''service for unsuccessful candidates''..Do anyone of you know how it works??i know there's a fee of $56..something.I am sure i did better than what i have got. It's really making me depressed

Angel,

Here is the link to the asi website that discusses how the exam is marked: http://www.asitest.ca/PN/cpnrefaqs.htm

Personally, I would say the $56 is prob worth it to ensure that no errors were made and that nothing got overlooked. I'm guessing that since they have that service availble it means that sometimes mistakes are found. Also, I think that if you do it,you find out what your score was and knowing how you did may help if you do have to write it again. But keep with it and good luck! Don't give up!

Do you know how many questions you failed by? I ask because if it were me, and it said I failed by say, 30 questions, I probably wouldn't pay the $56, but if I failed by, say, 6 questions, I most definitely would. That said, if you do pay the $56, do you get any sort of feedback on your weaker areas so that you know where to focus?

Prior to rewriting did you read the pamphlet "Preparing to rewrite the CPNRE"? If so, do you know where you are having problems, do you have an incomplete understanding of the content? or problems coping with the stress of writing the exam? or difficulty with multiple choice exams? There are suggestions to adress each of these problems in the pamphlet http://www.cpnre.ca/documents/Re-write%20Brochure%20EN_final2010.pdf

If you are having problems with exam stress I recommend reading the article "Stress care turning failure into triumph- a stress management professional helps a nursing student gain the confidence to pass the Canadian Registered nurse Examination" in the Canadian Nurse, January 2011
