CPNRE exam Jan-Feb 2021

Hey everyone, 

I thought I would start a page for anyone writing the CPNRE in Jan-Feb 2021. Please share any advice, tips or things you used that you found really prepared you for the exam! We can also keep each other updated when results are released.

What I used to study and what's been helpful are this document called NurseEd that teaches you how to answer CPNRE-type questions.  I find NurseEd more helpful than Mosby or Saunders because it's straightforward. Silent follower here, I took the exam three times and the previous two was failed, I took my last try last February and blessed to pass it. This is what I did. I studied my performance profile, print it out, and concentrate on areas that I am not performing well. Then, I did the following:

1. Narrow your review materials, the lesser, the better.

2. Answer Prep guides 3,4,5. Score yourself, and read the rationale to the items that you were wrong.

3. As you answer prep guides, make your own test-taking strategies. This really helps in elimination, so you can narrow your choices and choose the correct one. For me, it helps, reading nursed together with prep guides.

Make your own test-taking strategies if you encounter this in the question, 

-how will the nurse best respond

-what will the nurse do?

-what will the practical nurse anticipate?

- how will the nurse proceed?

-------etc..

3.if you have time, Read the Mosby book, and answer the questions on every chapter, DO NOT memorize, just familiarize especially laboratory values and normal vital signs. I am working full time and mom full time. I skip the part that I knew already. I only concentrate on the following because these are my weak content areas.

Fundamentals of Nursing, Maternal, and child, Ethico-legal.

 It that I know of. I only know that I don’t have my results and it’s beyond frustrating !! There’s no reason it should take this long to put out computerized results ! It’s been over five weeks for me!!

it is so frustrating. im 5 weeks waiting today. this is so ridiculous. how can a computer based exam takes forever to release result?
