CPNE Why the long wait???

Nursing Students Online Learning

Published

I have just sent applied online to EC and had my transcripts sent. I have extensive college credit and believe I will only need the nursing courses and possibly Micro and A&P. I'd like to get through the entire program as rapidly as possible and was curious as to why the CPNE waiting period is 4-6 months after your last EC exam? Can anyone help me understand this process more?

I just got a cancellation in Plano TX and I'm starting to freak out. Could you please give me a run down on the Hospital and what you thought of the CE's? I hadn't chosen Plano, but I'm willing to travel to get an earlier date and thought maybe info from someone whose been there would help. Thanks.

I'm now waiting for the CPNE...I'm freaking out just thinking about it. They may call at any time and I will be ready to go wherever I need to, just to get it over with. I wish I could tell you something about Plano, only thing I know is that I have heard it is a nice place to test.

I think all the sites are equal. You hear the most fuss from those who are angry because they didn't pass. You will pass no matter where you go IF you come prepared and hold your stress level down. I waited for 5 months to take mine in Atlanta. I used that time to really prepare myself well. The wait also starts again when you have completed the CPNE. I passed in January and waited until a week ago to graduate (and no I did not have any other classes to take--they have cut off dates for each graduation period). I then waited another week for the board to receive my transcripts--and yesterday I received my ATT!!! So prepare for another good 3-4 months after completing your CPNE to actually get your ATT.

Congrats on passing the CPNE - your almost done! It must feel so wonderful to say your finally done school. Thanks for the encouragement (I was unsure of Plano because of other posts on yahoo) It's great to get that "boost" from someone whose been through it recently. Thanks again and I wish you the best of luck with NCLEX!

I'm sorry to be stupid...but what's your ATT?

Whatever it is...I think I will go insane if I have to wait that long to get it. I mean INSANE!!!!!!!

your ATT is your authorization to test. You will receive this from Pearson Vue once the board of nursing approves your application. My board acted pretty quick but Excelsior is a BIG hold up. Don't think that just because you are done with the CPNE that the wait is over. EC has cut off dates for certain graduation periods--usually you wait about 2 months for your grad date. Once you have reached your grad date EC will send your transcripts to your BON. I advise you to fill out your BON application soon after graduation so they can have everything processed except for the transcripts. Mine was already processed during my graduation wait so when they received my transcripts they immediately issued my ATT. Yes, the waiting is something!

Oh great...and here I rushed to finish this program in five months, wore myself OUT...and I have t wait while *Excelsior* decides to get around to it.

I can't stand the thought of it.
