Excelsior also offers a skills workshop. It definitely helped me and while it's expensive, I don't think it ran anywhere close to $900. There's also a workshop taught in California (I think the company is called CHE). I don't know the details, but I've heard good things about the pass rates coming out of that workshop. Maybe someone on here can direct you better.
There are two CPNE workshops that I know of. They claim to be set up just like the CPNE and really do seem to be quite helpful. Here they are:

Oh yeah, they are quite a bit cheaper too.

I went to Tina's (CHE) workshop. The labs were set up identically to the actual CPNE. (When I say identically, I mean identically. The wound simulator for the wound packing station was the exact same one I used on the CPNE.) PCSs are hard to simulate, but her mnenomics and grids were a big help. I passed the CPNE the first time (Plano, 7/05). I chose her workshop mostly because it was local to me, but I would definitely recommend it to anyone.
I'm reasonably certain you can also take Chancellor's workshop without signing one of their contracts. Call them and ask.

My friend is going through Chancellor's for his EC degree.
Chancellors apparently has an in person review for the CPNE. Costs like $900 or so.
Does anyone know if it is possible to take an in person CPNE practice like this without signing a contract for the whole study guide package deal?
Thanks.
