Hello to everyone!!
I have never posted on this wonderful site and I have no idea why. For the last TWO years, I have quietly and oftentimes enviously read each and every inspiring story and right now, I feel like I want to personally hug Lunah, seusquatch and many others. I Did not start taking my classes until November 08 and have taken 8 exams in 5 months!!! My last exam was ECE A&P, which I thought I would fail and made an A. I only gave myself two weeks to study. Thanks to A&P Made Incredibly Easy, Studygroup 101 and of course, EC practice exams. I hope that anyone else who reads this and is struggling with the idea that all of this seems so distant and unattainable, it isn't. I received my letter in the mail today stating "CPNE ELIGIBLE." WOW. I'm 42, spent most of my adult life a single mom, surgical tech, then an LPN and all along working with people that are "23" BSN grads and at the LTAC where I work, I'd have to wait for THEM to come and push drugs for me, or hang blood, etc. That too, inspired me to move forward. I know I have alot to prepare for, but reading notes from Lunah, etc., gives me hope. Thanks again to all of you.
Congrats!!! STUDY STUDY STUDY. I just passed in Mansfield this past weekend. I will forever be grateful to ROB at Robscpne.com -- I will be a walking advertisement for him.. Passed with no repeats in the PCS.Good Luck and God Bless
Congrats to you! Did you use both Rob's lab and area's of care dvd ? I have both. Not quite there yet. Waiting to take Soc. and then should be CPNE eligible. I have no idea how long it will take me to prepare. Some say you are never really prepared. I have asked many people. Some say 3,4.5,5, 6,7-9 months. I know it differs with the person, but I will ask you...How long did you prepare? Any workshops? I would like to be done by Dec. or at least Jan. Thanks in advance...Traci
I'll be sending in my application for the CPNE along with the FCCA, whenever I receive it, hopefully sometime this week. I'm hoping to get a date for the CPNE before December either in Racine or Madison, since I heard so many good things about those sites. I'm also using Rob's dvd, since I can't afford to go to a workshop, and I'm also planning on utilizing Excelsior to critique my documentation and careplanning!
Thank you. I only bought to DVD for the AOC's didn't know he had a lab DVD until today. I study 10-12 hours a week up until May 1 then I pumped it up to 20-30 hours a week all the while trying to balance a full time job, a husband and a 4 year old daughter. I took the DVD with me to Mansfield and had it play continously. I was never without my flashcards. I used clear contact paper to cover them. I used them at the pool while my daughter was in swim lessons, at the Tball and soccer field. I kept them with me always. in the car, the bathroom in line at the bank or grocery store. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me and I will do what I can
