I finally have a date!! They were not kidding when they said November, but at least it is something. Hoping for an October or mid sept cancel! Studying with the 18th Edition as soon as my new laptop cord arrives. Ok guys....here we go :)

So exciting! I'm testing at Meriter in Madison on 11/18. I really want to get on a cancellation list and go in September if I can. So nervous...so exciting! Did you do a workshop? I did Tina's in CA and am doing Sheri Taylor's online workshop now. Good luck to you! :D

Hi Robin! No workshop for me yet. Although I would love to do a workshop, there are NONE near me (MN). Provided I keep making progress in my prep, I would really love a cancel in Sept too! MPAC does say they almost always have cancels every week. I will probably start Sheri's online conference soon, I just want to get Excelsior's study guide memorized first, and I am almost there :D There have been a group of students working on careplans via the EPN Chat, stop by sometime!

My CPNE app was accepted on 7/20 and I still don't have a date for NPAC is that normal?? How will I be notifed of date and place?

Hey Beachie! There were 2 of them, the week before last. None posted recently, but we could surely have our own group chat too! We throw out a patient, and basically run through an entire care plan....a few times ;)

Tomorrow me and my friend had an idea to switch up our studying a little bit... we are gonna go to a Starbucks or something similar and people watch while we study. My friends and I did this in LPN school... we should watch someone walk by and make them our patient... we'd be like "oh they definately look like they are short of breath" and go through all the possible reasons why they are short of breath and what our care plans would be or meds they might be on... I know it sounds weird LOL but it made it interesting :-)

Probably also going to bring the wound and maybe Tyrone with me. :-)

What is everyone working? I am usually around in afternoons/evenings. Should we start a new CPNE interested in chat thread?

Welcome!!! I am still in the early stages of prepping; I have Rob's CD, read through the study guide, sending my care plans in to EC, signing up for Tina's care plan conference next month, memorizing my mnemonics, EC documentation conference and MOCK PCS...practice practice practice :) I am tossing around the idea of doing EC hands on or Tina Logans hands on workshop if I can get the time off. Hoping to get the allnurses girls together for a cpne chat soon :yeah:

Signed up for Sheri Taylor's on-line workshop. Thinking about the EC documentation class. Will probably do a month of Tina Logan's on-line workshop. Done a lot of research on the internet. Any info I come across I compare against the critical elements for the 17th edition which I'll test under. Reviewing skills since I haven't worked on the floor in 6 years.

I've also taken off 6 weeks of work to prepare for this thing. :eek:

Where will you be testing? My test date is oct 14-16. Im doing chancellors careplan lab in sept...have you heard any info about that workshop?
