Hello,

i need some help formulating my resume. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. This is the cover letter for my job profile on the hospital website. It makes you copy and paste it in. For other jobs i will be personalizing them. Thank you!

Dear Hiring Manager:

I am writing to express my interest in employment with XXX Hospital. I have earned my Bachelors in Science in Nursing from XX University. With my experience in acute medical and complex care, I would be a great candidate to fulfill your need for a Registered Nurse.

During my preceptorships I was exposed to a variety of settings that included residential, community, medical/surgical, and acute psychiatric. The majority of my clinical hours were in the orthopedic and neurology unit. Currently, I am employed at XXX Villa where I provide care for seniors. My enclosed resume provides further details about my qualifications and skills.

I share the goal of creating a healthier, stronger community and better quality of care for everyone. I am confident I would be a good fit for your team and welcome the chance for an interview. I can be reached at (555) 555- 4445 or [email protected]. Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerly,

Rachel, RN

Are you a new grad or an experienced nurse? It's not clear. Also, you are simply rehashing your resume. Say something specific about why they should hire you. What sets you apart from the myriad of other candidates? That's what's going to get you noticed.

In addition to what beekee said, be diligent about spelling and grammar. Granted, this is just an informal nursing forum and you may not be taking the same care, but you've got spelling errors in your post.

thank you for your response

In your last paragraph I would recommend using something specific from the organization you applying to. Their mission statement is usually found on line, and this would demonstrate you've done some research about them.
