May 17, 201016 yr I was shocked to see the thread closed! But it's ok..FYI, the official OTS website has been updated for 10-04!
May 17, 201016 yr Author Thanks for passing that on. What sucks is they seem to update it at the last minute every class....
May 18, 201016 yr anything that you noticed was different on it MT?also... reminder. Facebook: USAF COT10-04!
May 18, 201016 yr No mess dress needed. That seems to be the only change. So that can gather dust in my closet. Oh well. I guess Adam is right about not planning ahead!
May 18, 201016 yr I did notice the following:- no need to purchase the mess dress uniform- AD trainees will be issued a EZ card pre-loaded with $300 that will be deducted from our pay.- included TIME FRAME FUNDS NEEDED in the expenses chart- more instructions about the uniforms... you need to get the rank sewn on! i haven't since it wasn't made clear in the instructions. =( i'll try to go tommorow and see if it can still be done on time.
May 19, 201016 yr Author Something I'm VERY glad they've included in this update - understand that the amount will be taken from your first paycheck to cover it (just loading this up front so it's not a surprise). That would have made everyone's life SOOOOOO much easier!Note - Reservists and Guard members will still have to pay for all meals - but they're very, very cheap (less than $5 a pop - sometimes less than $3).
May 19, 201016 yr I am glad to know that it ahead of time. I still have all my bills to pay. lol. But I'm happy to have that rather than carry cash.
May 19, 201016 yr Author You'll still need SOME cash on hand - they hit you for ten bucks as soon as you walk in the door - literally. And then there's money for pictures and money for the class gift and we need $15 for everyone for this and the dining out (or in, in your case) is $30 a head and......It's a nightmare. We all griped, though, about the fact that they took a week - A WEEK! - to issue those dam*ed EZPAY cards. Meanwhile my security drawer looked like Fort bloody Knox with wads of ones and fives in it.Lackland AFB now accepts EZPAY in the BX, but I don't know if the cards we got at COT are specifically coded for meals. There's only one place on base at Maxwell to cash them out, and it can be a pain. If I get a chance I'll ask at Finance and see if an EZPAY card is an EZPAY card is an EZPAY card. My impression is all the tech schoolers get one and the BMT kids might even get one. If the techies get one, then Keesler probably accepts them too. I meant to ask this a while ago but I forgot. If I get a chance I'll buzz Finance and ask them.
May 20, 201016 yr Well, it is days away folks!!!I'm ducking out of the movers way (I can not believe how many boxes there are!) right now. Tomorrow I hit the road. Thank you to all you amazing people who have been so supportive as my journey begins.
