Could this be a hippa violation???

Within the past 2 weeks I have received phone calls from my doctor's office stating that someone had tried to call in and receive a script for Norco in my name. I have filed a police report, but what my question is..... Should I file a HIPPA Violation suit against my doc's office. They are the only ones that would have the access to my medical records and the information that one would need to call in a script.

I think it is a criminal matter. Just a note to let you know that CVS pharmacy in texas took patient records and put them in the dumpster....yeah now that is a HIPPA violation....just keep shredding labes, keeping your meds at home or locked up...there are many out there who will try anything to get drugs....keep your chin up
