Cost of 1 Year in Florida IPN

Published

When I started in IPN, it was really hard to find transparent information about how much the whole process would cost.

Here is a breakdown of what I paid for tests and monitoring over the course of a year.  Your individual costs may vary based on the specifics of your contract.  I hope this helps someone.

Annual program fee “relapse prevention fee” 50.00 X 1 = 50.00

Urine drug test 57.00 X 24 = 1368.00

Blood test 99.00 X 4 = 396.00

Extra expensive urine test 138.00 X 1 = 138.00

Nurse support group fee = 80 X 12 = 960.00

total annual testing and monitoring fees = 2912.00

**This excludes evaluations and treatment costs

"Extra expensive urine" haha. Transparency is not what their known for. I have a couple of hair/nail tests ~quarterly that aren't cheap also. At least you can write it off as medical / addiction treatment, though I haven't found it to be better than the standard deduction apart from the year I went to rehab.

For not for profit agencies, that a lot of profit. From 2011-2016 over 100,000 nurses had their license disciplined for diversion, (SUD/Addiction). Imagine how much each state agency makes off of the disability of Addiction. Times are changing though. The lot of us who unfortunately have been a part of this epidemic are getting all the way well again and are speaking out about the injustices. We do recover, and we come out as better humans.

Hello,

I had a DUI conviction in Michigan.  First ever (YES super drunk) I had the gastric bypass surgery).  I was told that I should enter into the HPRP program why?  If I did not, I would lose me nursing license.

Why is it that a police officer can be convicted of a DUI and get one year probation with random drug screens.  Additionally HE can continue to work and feed his family, but the nurse SHE has to have her nursing license suspended, then get fired...so she can no longer feed her family.

If you are thinking about a career DO NOT GO INTO NURSING.  The treatment we experience for something, that another citizen experiences is detrimental to your lively hood. I spent 36 years of my life in this field and I have been destroyed by MY ONE TIME MISTAKE.

I may never be able to post again because, I cannot get a JOB.

Hi, I am a nurse in Florida and am possibly facing IPN very soon. Is there anyone here who could speak with me or via email?  I have so many questions and it would help to speak to someone who has gone through this.  I am unable to send direct messages on here yet.  Thank you

Hello, how are you? Just wanted an update on your journey due to it coming up to another year of completion for you. I just got a call yesterday about reporting to IPN and wanted some information. Been stressing a lot for something so small
