Hey,
I have an interview for a nursing position in northern ontario (moose factory region).
Just wondering how much food costs there? for example, does anyone know how much milk, bread, eggs, fruit costs?
Thank you in advance!

I live in Attawapiskat which is north from Moose Factory..
So these are some prices I pay... Moose Factory is cheaper... Also, keep in mind there are alternatives to buying food here but you can PM if you want to get the low down on how to survive up here...
Milk $7.39
Bread $2.99
Eggs $3.85/ dozen
Fruit depends on the fruit: bananas $2.17kg, apples 3 lb $9.85
Also there is a Northern Allowance to help offset food.. If you have any question just pm me.. I have been in Attawapiskat now for 9.5months

The only food that is more expensive than Melbourne Australia is the milk, everything else is way cheaper than our food (
There are higher prices like cereal is 12-18$ per box lol It just depends and moose factory is cheaper than where i am

I had a friend who got a job in the nunavut and she paid 7 dollars for a bottle of coca cola. Overall she said that food was really really expensive, but she got a housing allowance which was supposed to take that into account. ITs a trade off, because in some cases you will get more money. Where my friend was though, she had something like 20 hours of dark a day...wow!
