Hello,
I have been accepted into a LVN program in the San Diego area. Right now my main concern is the cost. I will be attending UEI starting in Jan. The program is 34,000. It includes everything, all test fees, background check, school supplies, etc. I am just having a hard time coming to terms with undertaking that much debt. I am aware all the community colleges are on a wait list until 2012 right now so I don't know what to do. Any advice or anyone in the same situation??

I totally understand your concern. You'd rather pay than wait, there are plenty of ppl who feel the same way you do. I know I did at 1 point, I too was going to attend a vocational school here in southern cali back in 2005 when the cost for private colleges at that time was abt 20-22000. Luckily i was accepted into the LVN program at the local Community college costing me a tiny fraction of the price. BUT to keep things completely honest with you, LVN's do not i repeat DO NOT make enough money to maintain a decent/stable living status in southern Cali. I know far too many LVN's who can barely make ends meet. 34,000 is steep price to pay back but if your going to feel better by getting your LVN as a step up towards your goal as an RN then go for it. The way i see it TIME=MONEY. The more time you take the more money your lose.
