Hello! I thought I would start a board for those applying for the 2019 October Nurse Residency Cohort at Cook Children's in Fort Worth,TX. I thought that this would be a great way to communicate with each other about how the process is moving along and answering any questions we might have. Good luck everyone!

Hi, I also am in the process of applying to the critical care track. I was wondering if anybody had trouble with the application part. For the three references did you use your clinical instructors? I am just confused because they already ask for recommendation letters, so I am unsure if references are different. Thank you!

I put three professional references separate from my clinical instructors

Hi! I’m applying to the critical care track as well! I thought we only needed 2 references and that was it! I didn’t see anything about recommendation letters ??‍♀️??‍♀️

Did anyone go to the zoom session today? I was at clinical but wondering if they said anything that would be helpful about interviews and such if chosen? Thank you.

I went to the zoom meeting! If you have ever been to one of their meetings before it was the exact same. She explained that the application was due June 20th and they would try to let us know within one to two weeks after close date if we have interview. Interviews will be July 8-12 from 8-5pm each of those days. They will try to notify by July 22nd if you get a position or not. They accept 20-30 people total with all cohorts combined and she really stressed how supportive of a hospital they are! They offer a mentoring and a buddy program to help us transition into the role. She also did stress that once you apply to the nurse residency program, if you are not chosen, you are ineligible to apply for the program again. You would have to gain experience and try to apply for a regular RN position in the unit of your choosing at that point. That was the majority of the conversation, let me know if you have any other questions!!

Hey! I'm so glad someone started this thread! I also applied to the critical care track. I have been checking my phone constantly since Thursday! Please make sure that every one posts if they hear anything!
