Contract wording question -Any AMN travelers out there?

So, I'm looking at a contract with an AMN subsidiary that lists the shift as 12 hour Evenings. I worked out a deal for a specific midshift am start time. The recruiter says per their legal dept they don't list specific shift start times but he has me listed at the start time the manager and I agreed to. Any thoughts? Anyone traveled with AMN and were start times for shifts listed on your contract? Any trouble with the facility abiding by the shift start time agreed to?

I travel for AMN and I have both my start times and shift preferences listed in my contract. 3 consecutive 7-7 shifts per week is stated in my contract .

That seems hinky to me. Why exactly can't they list a start time if its what was agreed to. Beware!

I told my recruiter about you Argo. He says he was told all contracts state either Days, Evenings, or Nights with no specific shift start times and that the contract dept has never gotten approval from the legal dept for a specific shift start time. He suggested either a. You are mistaken and do not work for AMN or one of its subsidiaries or b. I get your name so he can look up your old contracts and send them to the contracts dept. To prove to them it can be done.

If I didn't really want this contract and location I soooo would not be going through this right now. Unfortunately no sub contracting agencies with this hospital. It's AMN and it's subsidiaries.

I know right??!!# why is it so easy for other companies to do this but this one? My current contract with a different company has a shift start time.

Obviously it can be done. I doubt Argo is confused as to which company he works for. Again, I don't know. If you agreed to a 1pm start time for your shift for example, why is it such a big deal to write that into your contract?.....Unless.....they don't plan to honor it.

Unless you got bad vibes from the manager (in which case you shouldn't do the assignment anyway), that is the right person to promise a start time. If it doesn't work out that way, there is not much that can be done. A good agency would deal with a change with what you were promised, unfortunately American Mobile doesn't seem to be in that category recently, so if the facility makes changes that you can not handle personally, you may be stuck. Hope for the best! You just never really know for sure how things are going to work out until you are there. I figure I can handle about any work situation, but do admit I tried nights for several weeks - never again!

My contract just says 12 hour days/nights, 36 hours/week. I actually haven't worked any nights since I've been here, which I'm ok with. My manager just asked which shift I'd prefer to work.
