Hello!
I am a new grad seeking employment.
About 2 months ago I had a interview at a hospital. A nurse recruiter contacted me, had a phone interview, and next I was given an in person interview with HR then the unit manager. At the beginning of last month I was told by email by the nurse recruiter I was not selected.
Should I contact/email the nurse recruiter back saying how I am a qualified candidate for any other position ???
or just not bother her.
I have filled out many online applications about 1-2 weeks ago at that facility now that I have passed my boards mid June.
-I have applied to other hospitals and some 50 min away but this is the closest I have gotten to meeting nurse managers/ HR in person.

Hospitals follow a standard employment process. First, you have to be be 'screened' by HR to ensure that you meet all the stated requirements for an approved (advertised) job. Then HR provides the approved applications to the hiring manager. The hiring manager decides which ones to interview. The selected applicants are then asked (by HR or manager) to interview. Hiring manager does the interviews, then selects the one to hire. HR notifies that person and conducts the 'final' processes (background check, reference check, drug screen, physical exam, etc).
Yeah, it can be a lengthy process - particularly if the hiring manager is already working 60 hour weeks trying to cope with an overwhelming workload.
Go ahead and keep applying. Now that you're an RN, your application will be taken more seriously. Wishing you the best of luck on your job hunt.
Update: I emailed the person back and never got a response but i had to give it a try
