Constant calf cramps while sleeping. HELP!

I just had four procedures done on my back. Two middle branch blocks, one on left side and one on right, and two radio-frequency's also one on the left and one on the right. After my third procedure which was the mmb on the right, I started getting the calf cramps almost every night. I had the procedure done on December 5, 2008 and I have had at least 12 cramps since. Last night I had 3, 2 on my left leg and 1 on my right. A lot of people have been saying that I just need to eat banana's but I barely ever had them before my third procedure so I just want to make sure it is not related. Any ideas?

Well, we can't give medical advice here....

I'd call your doctor and report it, he may want to give you something for cramps.

Personally, if I start getting cramps in my legs its because my calcium is off (I don't eat enough dairy). Try a large glass of milk before bedtime, or a calcium supplement.

Know it sounds strange, but ...

I get cramps in my calves when I am tired. At night, when I start feeling very sleepy my calves will start cramping & I know it's time to go to bed. The second I lay down they stop.

My theory is something vitamin def. related.

As for your question: YES TELL YOUR MD!! Who knows it may be related, let them make the decision.

We are really sorry but it would be inappropriate for any of our members to offer medical advice, you really need to be asking your health care provider these questions.
