Considering Putting Nursing School on Hold!

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

This may be a bad idea, but I am soon

to go visit my fiance and stay with him

until he we are able to return to

the states. He is traveling for work

and has decided for me to travel to be

there with him as he finishes the

job. Well he and I are talking maybe

I should take some time off from school

to get adjusted to the family life.

Hes making enough to support us

and I am having a hard time even getting

employers to hire me. I know once I decide to

have kids nursing school will be challenging.

At this point I am unsure of what to

do but I am not giving up on my dreams.

Any feedback is appreciated.

When you're figuring it all out, it sometimes helps to have a mental model of your own personal timeline. I can assure you that there is no time limit on education. However, there are biological time limits on childbearing. So, you may want to consider these factors. One more really true thing . . . family should always be prioritized over everything else in your life.

Sounds like you are in a really good place creating your future with someone you love. School can wait. We'll be here when you're ready.

Thanks so much for the support here.

I know there is absolutely no time limit

on education as the biological clock does

eventually run out and I would love to have

a few more children before my time is up.

As devastating as this comes because nursing

is what I long to do I vowed I would never

give up. But as I have found happiness

with a man who who can support through

everything and since finances are not an issue

I figure why not enjoy life now for at least

the next year or two then return back

to school.I am still young so I have plenty

of time to graduate nursing school.

Thanks again for all the support.

Also consider that depending on how much time you take off you may need to retake pre-reqs.
