How do you get a job at the hospital with only a cpr cert?

Specializes in OB-GYN.

Been chasing a certain hospital like a dog with no luck. What's a girl gotta do to get noticed?

Um..... Do you have any experience for the job you are applying to? With only a cpr card you could be a volunteer or a patient transporter.

Specializes in medsurg, progressive care.

With JUST a CPR cert and no prior experience? Slim to no chance of getting any sort of hospital job that would help in nursing school. If you can manage it, I'd say take a CNA course and try to work as an aide. Some hospitals hire nursing students as patient care associates, but that's after a year of clinicals. You might be able to get a job as a unit clerk depending on what your previous job experience has been and the different hospitals' qualifications.

I'm not sure what level of experience you have outside of your cpr cert. If you are straight out of high school try applying for positions like patient transport (like Dreamlover said), EVS Technician (hospital janitor), welcome desk attendant. That way you can get our foot in the door and transfer to Unit secretary or patient aide when you get more experience.

Also have you thought of conducting a few informal interviews with people that work at the hospital? Those type of connections can help you get a job down the line. I hope you get the position you want at the hospital you are aiming for. It's hard to get a job with little experience but it is very possible.
