I've decided to go back to school to become a RN. Although initially I would like to gain some clinical experience my long term goals are to get involved in possibly wellness education or diabetes education. I have a BS in Nutrition and I'm a registered dietitian. Do you think that an RN would help me achieve my goals or do I need to go for the BSN RN?
What are some of the advantages to the BSN RN versus the RN without BSN?
Also, I was wondering if I decide for the RN through a diploma school, is it easy to get the BSN?
Thanks,
Confused

Welcome to Allnurses.com.
There are already many, many threads on this topic, if you go thru search on the gold-bar at the top of this site. You already have a BS, getting a BSN will not make any difference in your career, unless you want to go into nursing management. You would be better off going into a bridge program where you get your MSN, in about the same time that it would take you to get the BSN, since you already have a BS, and in a health science.
Hope that this helps.............. :balloons:

I believe that you can be a certified diabetes educator as a dietician -- at least that's true here in OK.
My sister is a clinical nutritionist/dietician and is a C.D.E. :balloons:
She has her own practice in NY on Long Island.
