Hi all,
Right now I have a MD RN license. I want to get a CA license by endorsement. I went through the CA BON website. According to the site that if I want to go through "Live Scan FP" its available in CA. I would like to know if I can go to the Local FBI office and get a Live Scan FP here in MD?

Well on the CA BRN's site (http://www.rn.ca.gov/applicants/fpinstruct.shtml) it says only available IN california. Im pretty sure the FBI doesnt send the fingerprints to state crimincal justice systems.
So I tried to look up MD for you. At a MD livescan site I found that they submit things to the FBI or MD criminal just system.

So im assuming that you can only get livescanned in the state for which you want a liscence, because they can only send it to the state criminal justice system for which they're in. So you might have to do the fingerprint card, or wait until you get here.
You can always call the CA BRN to double check thats the case. Main Phone: (916) 322-3350

Thanks for the heads up YMM. Actually I already requested the fingerprint cards. Can I let my local police station do the FP for me?
Looks like that's what the BRN asks. So local PD is the way to go.
"Fingerprints should be taken at a local law enforcement agency. There may be a fee for this service. Weadvise that you should call first as to a convenient time.
DO NOT FOLD FINGERPRINT CARD. Use a 9" X 12" envelope to return your completed application andfingerprint card with fees. Write "DO NOT FOLD" on the envelope. If your card is folded, you will need to complete and submit a new fingerprint card. THIS WILL CAUSE A DELAY IN DETERMINING YOUR ELIGIBILITY FOR EXAMINATION OR LICENSURE."
This was taken from page 4 of the application for CA RN. This should be the link to the pdf version of the normal application. http://www.rn.ca.gov/pdfs/applicants/exam-app.pdf You might want to look at it for full fingerprinting instructions or just for reference
