Condom catheter

I'm working at ltc.

Male man admitted with condom catheter.

It fell off so I reapplied, not new one. I thought it's okay to reapply it was not dropped on the floor.

But Pt states that the cath was on floor and I picked it up and reapplied.

There was miscommunication with CNA. I thought it was clean when CNA gave it to me.

It is totally my fault because I didn't check.

I got a call from DON I'm so scared.

I'm wondering if I can lose my license because of this situation.

Please help me

No, you will not lose your license because of this.

It's gross that it was on the floor but fortunately it isn't indwelling. Probably no harm done. You won't lose your license. What really stinks is why your CNA didn't tell you/clarify with you that it fell? Sounds like there may be communication issues between staff.

You won't lose your license. Better question is why does the guy need a condom cath? Do a 3 day bladder assessment and put him on some sort of toileting program.
