Concordia University Irvine ABSN Summer 2013

U.S.A. California

Hello, is anyone planning on applying for Concordia's ABSN summer '13 program? Applications are due in just a few weeks! I am working on getting everything in my application ready to go and turned in as soon as possible.

Hello,

I turned in my application last Friday. It was a very last minute submission, so I hope that there won't be any problems for me.

Good luck to everyone!

I turned my application to admissions in person on Thursday. When I spoke to the girl at the front desk of the admissions office, she made it sound like they had more applications than they usually get.:nailbiting: I hope all goes well! I think I might throw up from the anxiety until the 3rd week of March which is when they said we would be notified of interviews! What is everyone's background and overall and prereq GPA?

Ah, I don't doubt that they received a lot of applications on those last remaining days. The girl at the front already expected my packet to be the ABSN application before I even said anything.

My chance of even getting an interview is rather low, as my degree (one class) and one pre-req are in progress. My prereq GPA is approximately 3.6 and my overall GPA is 3.67.

Anyone else mind sharing their background, clinical experience, and GPA's?

Mo mo mo- Hi there! I got a B.A in '09 in psychology and I think my GPA is around 3.3-3.4ish. For clinical experience I have been volunteering at a hospital and got a CNA license in December. How about you?

Anyone apply anywhere else? I have my app in at San Marcos but I am really hoping for Concordia.

Also- any current or past Concordia students have any advice about the interview??

Hi SG12,

I will get my B.A in psychology in a few more weeks. I have absolutely no clinical experience, but my undergraduate studies lean more toward bio/chem sciences, so I have research experience related to bio-medical studies.

I haven't applied anywhere else as of now, but I do plan to apply to other schools for fall admissions.

You have a very solid support and background! I wish you the best of luck :).

As someone who has been where all of you are at and gone through it, good luck to everyone who applied. I'm sure everyone is anxious to hopefully receive the interview invitation. The invitations will come soon enough. Good luck, hopefully you guys get good news.

I'm ready to hear!!! I interviewed with Mt. St. Marys and Western this week... want to keep my mojo rolling ;)

Hi everyone! I just got an invitation for an interview on March 2nd. Good luck to everyone!

Me too!! See you March 2nd!

Oh my goodness did you receive an invitation via email or phone or USPS SG12 and aleong29? I thought they weren't extending interview invites until the 3rd week of March! I'm soooo beyond nervous now. I hope I get invited for an interview. This was the only program I applied to! Aleong29 and SG12, what is your background/experience/GPA if you don't mind posting?

Oops sorry SG12 you already posted. My undergrad GPA is a 3.25 (majored in Communications) with my prereq GPA almost a 4.0. I also volunteer at my local hospital but realized after I turned in the app that I forgot to write anything about that in the essay, DOH! Other than volunteering, I have no other experience or formal training. Biting my nails over here!:nailbiting: Wow, superfryk, you must have a great GPA and experience to get invited to interviews to both those programs! I was going to apply to MSMC but decided against it because of the commute since I have a LO and backed out of applying to Western last minute because it's an RN --> MSN and not a BSN --> MSN. How do you feel about the interviews for Western and MSMC? I'm surprised there aren't more people replying to this thread!
