Concordia University Irvine ABSN Fall 2014

Hi everybody. I didn't see a thread for the ABSN program for Fall 2014 at Concordia University Irvine so I made one. I sent in my application last week. Is anyone else applying for this program? What are the chances of getting in?

I also received an email that I will be interviewing on the 16th!

anyone out there who just went through the interview process for the summer cohort that can offer any advice on what to expect?

If you look at my previous comments on this thread there is a lot of info about my recent interview process. I interviewed in April for the summer 2014 cohort and will start my core nursing classes in a month :)

Thanks AspiringNurse99! Any advice on what to wear? Dress, heels, flats, suit..etc?

Were the questions pretty general, or did they throw in some curveballs? And, what was the writing sample about? I know it will probably be different but just to get an idea of what they are asking. Any advice is greatly appreciated!!!

The writing sample was to explain the balance of nursing between an art and a science. Meaning it's an art within human relationships and a science from all the knowledge that is necessary.

I remember an interview person mentioning that everyone wore too much black and it was hard to tell the difference between all the candidates. So wear a bright colored cardigan and a nice dress and flats because the interview is long.

The questions are pretty basic so BE ORIGINAL!

Hey guys,

I am looking at applying to the Concordia program in fall 2015. Does Concordia accept deferment? Is it possible to defer admission for me to enter in fall 2016. Would like to get some work experience before beginning my nursing core.

You cannot. I am in the program now and due to the high volume of applicants ready for school immediately it is best to apply for the term you will be attending.

do prerequistes have to be completed before the nursing core or before the online theology course? also when do classes start for the fall? i know it is in October but is it the beginning, mid or end of October.
