Congrats you guys! Would any of you who were accepted mind sharing your GPA and/or TEAS score? Is the TEAS score due at the time of application or do they ask you later to take it with them?

I graduated with my first BA at an even 3.00 and then my pre-req's GPA was 3.65. They don't require the TEAS prior to admission. You take it during your first semester so I haven't taken it yet. Hope this helps!

Congrats to those of you who have been accepted! I am going to apply for Summer 2012 and CUI is definately my first choice, dream school! I was just wondering, I have seen that several people have applied that have courses in progress, but I haven't seen these people later saying that they are accepted until theire second time applying. I will be taking my chem class over (since I took it so long ago) and am wondering if anyone has actually got accepted with an in progress class. I have gotten A's on all my science courses thus far and am wondering if I should even bother until after all my classes are done with. Thanks so much for the help in advance. Congrats again!!! :yeah:

nuhopeful47,

Thank you!! I definitley think you should apply. The first time I applied, I also had Chem in progress due to the recency policy and still got an interview! The reason I feel I didnt get in the first time was because I let my nerves get the best of me and didn't prepare myself for the interview. There was one girl in my group, that I know of, who got accepted with a class in progress. Since, you have taken Chem before I'm pretty sure they will look at that and take it into consideration. So, it's definitely possible to get accepted with a class in progress...if its more than one class then it might be more difficult. If you get an interview, my advice would be to take time and reflect on why you really want to go into the nursing field and speak from your heart :)

I hope this helped. Let me know if u have any more questions!

Hi!

I did get in to Concordia with a chem class in progress for the first time - so it does happen! I did see that the following cohorts starting in Summer of 2010 I believe also have a stats class now required that wasn't before so keep that in mind now too :0)

The interview was good. Just be very confident in who you are and what you are about. I think so many people go into it not being real to themselves - giving the answers that they think the instructors want to here and hitting all the right points. If you truly believe that you are right where you should be and are enthusiastic about describing that - you will do great! Oh, and also be able to describe how you are prepared to handle an intensive course. How have you financially, mentally, and physically (moving wise) prepared for this transition in your life. Knowing that for yourself will really help the folks interviewing you know you are ready to handle this huge commitment

Hi,

Congratulations to all of those who have been accepted. In my case this was the second time I applied. I did not have any course in progress. I have 4.0 GPA from all the prerequisites. I was very confident in the interview, I spoke from my heart. I truly want to be a nurse because I love it. But I did not get accepted! I cannot understand why. I am a very good student, all my professors were surprised that I did not get accepted. But I guess the people interviewing saw something in me that they did not like. Anyway, I am not saying that you should not apply. I am just trying to share with you guys that even though you are completely prepare to go into this program, there are chances that you cannot get accepted as well.

God bless you all. Good luck and be great nurses!!!!!

Hi,

I just have a question about their admissions process. Does anyone know what their "point system" is like? What do they consider besides your undergrad gpa and prereq gpa?

How competitive is this program? I'm starting my prereq's this fall-I just graduated with a bachelor's in English 3.1 avg gpa. Do I have a shot at getting in if I do well in my prereq's?

Thanks

There's no "point system" in CUI ABSN Admision process. Cumulative GPA is combination of your undergraduate GPA and GPA of classes you take after BA/BS. The program is competitive in nature. You are competing with an average of 200~ applicants for 35-40 spots in the program each admission term.

######WARNING#############

Concordia University Irvine is to be avoided if possible!!!

They are going to ruin your life!!!! It is very hard to pass their class!!

All they care is the school passing rate!!!!

They have a lot of people that drop from their school!!!

Again I'm warning you guys!!! If you got accepted somewhere else run there!!!!

Very bad teachers there!!!

Not good at all!!!!!!

Can someone confirm Concorida absn program consists of 4 semesters which includes first semester only taking 9 units of online religious classes?
