Anyone planning or already attending the LVN program for Concorde Career College in San Diego.

How Much is the Toal program? Does the price include books and uniforms? Do you know the next start date? And Requirements for admission? Thanks anybody.....:D

i got accepted into concorde here in san diego and was supposed to start in sept of 08, the total price was 35,000 and i decided not to go, i went back to the community college and continued working on my pre-reqs, i'll be dont this summer and then take it from there. honestly i dont think i would consider concorde, if i were going the vocational way, i would look at marics lvn program

I went to Grossmont Health Occupations Center in Santee for LVN and the cost was only $2,500. A much better price for the LVN route. That price includes all books and uniforms. They also offer the Carl Perkins Grant to pay for the LVN course and offer free gas cards to LVN students. Can't beat that!

I was gonna go there but they're way too expensive so I went to Pacific College in Costa Mesa. You shoul look into PC instead, that is if you don't mind the commute.

The first semester is M-F 7:30-1:30. That is classroom time and don't be late. Also, every once in a while class will run until 3:30pm and they don't want to hear students complain :lol2: Clinicals can be the same hours or start earlier. Some start later like an afternoon shift. I had one that ran until 11pm but that was 3rd semester.

After first semester you only have to go to school 2 days a week and have clinical 2 days so only scheduled for four days a week.

They've had students that have had to drive from North county before. One from Temecula even and they said she made it to everything and graduated! :) So go for it and just apply. Doesn't hurt to apply. And if you get that Carl Perkins Grant (50% of the students do) then you will also get free gas cards to help pay for gas. Good luck! :heartbeat

I graduated Concorde in 2007....huhuhuh 35,000? Man, they're getting greedy ! Mine was a paltry 24,000 in 2006 when I began lol. Concorde is ok with it's ups and downs - AKA Class Drama - and some good and not so good instructors. You'll get out of it what you put into it. You will likely hear barking and moaning about the limitations of the clinical sites, but just remember most of nursing is learned on the job in the REAL world..nursing school is not reality.

Im currently working now in another state in home health and psychiatric and am having a good time and earning decent money for just 14 months of school. I am also transitioning to Rn. My night Psych. job is gravy and easy to study after I have finished my work and the clients are sound asleep. :)

My home health job is not gravy but pays well.

The Concorde "campus" in SD is a JOKE. Save your money, and please look to go anywhere else. Horrible school.
