I have been a LPN for 3 years now, and I have tried the traditional RN route in the past but it didn't work out in my favor. I am a mother of five children with a fulltime job working the night shift. I'm just ready to get this part of my life over and done with and I am not completely satisfied when I have this burning desire to get my RN.
I know for sure Excelsior is the best fit for me and my schedule because I can go as fast or as slow, as long as I get this done. I have read many blogs and lots of post about how people conquered Excelsior nursing courses fast, and I want to do this.
I just have to complete A&P 1 and 2 and Micro, then on to the nursing courses. I'm studying each and everyday, even at work. I'm got to take the exam route and just test out of each course. I can do this; I know I can!
Whose also just starting at Excelsior and is trying to get this done over with fast; I'm determined to have everything completed and then studying for the CPNE by no later than 2016, yes so serious!
Anyone interested in conquering this beast together????......now back to studying:bookworm:

Good luck! I went through Excelsior and from registration to receiving my degree in the mail it was less than one year. You can do it! Don't be overwhelmed by the negative reports about the CPNE. It is stressful due to the amount of money and time invested, but it honestly is not that bad since they TELL YOU WHAT TO DO! I used Robb's CPNE study guide. It was cheap and effective.

Have you investigated thoroughly? Here's a good informational thread.

I just applied last week, I'm in the same boat, I want to do this and I want it done fast!!! I also have 5 kids and work full time. So traditional just won't work for me. Maybe we can all keep in touch and encourage one another and who knows, maybe we'll be CPNE-ing at the same time! :)

I need to do the same thing! I have to take Micro and then onto the nursing classes. I'd be down for keeping in touch with those of you around the same stage in the game.

I completed all my coursework within about a year. So it can go fast. Just a heads up...depending on where you are taking your CPNE, right now most people testing with NPAC (NY, PA) have an 8-10month waiting period for a test, so make sure you factor that in.
