I would not worry about it setting you back. I also had to take remedial math but I got it done in two semesters. To tell you the truth, I really needed to refresh my math skills. I am now going into my third semester of the nursing program. Gwinnett Tech is on the quarter system right? You'll get it done in no time;)
i recently took the compass test @ gwinnett tech and did not pass the math portion. i aced the english/writing. its been quite a while since i have even seen a math problem. ive been taking advantage of the websites that my advisor had given to me. they have been somewhat helpful. is or has anyone else been in the same boat? and are you going to/did you retest or take remedial math courses? im a little worried that this will set me back
i feel your pain. i scored into 'elementary algebra'. that means taking elementary, intermediate and then passing college algebra just to be able to apply. i feel luckier than most, i had all of my sciences transfer from another college. others have to pass college algebra before they can even take micro, anatomy, etc. i call it 'hoops'.
Yeah- I Graduated High School in 2004 so my SATs wouldnt apply otherwise Id be fine. I think Im going to do my English and Psychology this quarter and also study up on Algebra and try to ace it. Im only a few points off. JEEZUS who in the world needs to know the slope of y? I dont want to be an architect... I just want to be a nurse!
Also... This may be a question I could ask the school but I want to know NOW I took Intro to Psychology 1302 at University of Texas- So Im wondering if that would transfer even though its a different # than the Intro to Psychology 1101 @ GT. And who would I ask about that? An advisor? Im such a newb to all of this info and paperwork.
