Hello, I am interested in telephone triage nursing. I have been an RN for 13 years. I did a lot of telephone triage for an endocrinologist for several years along with lots of diabetic teaching! I've had a variety of experiences including long-term care, home health, dialysis and I've currently been 5 years on an in-patient rehab unit (strokes, amputations, hip/knee replacements etc). I'm 50 yrs old and MY hips/knees aren't what they used to be! I've done computer charting for years and I was a school secretary prior to nursing, so I'm comfortable with typing/charting, prioritizing and organization. I would love to find a home telephone triage position. I wouldn't mind training in an office setting, but my goal is to work from home. I have a dedicated computer and printer as well. What companies are currently hiring/training for triage nurses? Are certain companies considered better then others? Also, are there classes on-line or books I could order for core curriculum that would help me get into this field? Any ideas, or suggestions that you might have will be much appreciated. Thank you in advance, Sue

Mckesson corp. hires triage and disease state management RNs. Try their website-they have multi-state openings usually. They offer excellent training, benefits, wages. Some areas are able to let you work from home. Good luck. Just go to McKesson.com.
