I haven't found a forum yet for this semester, re applying for the 2nd time. Extremely nervous.

Ymon, it's easy to calculate your overall GPA with any online GPA calculator. Just enter your grades for all pre reqs required for the nursing program. That is what the program directors will be doing, stated in the information session. They also look at CCBC GPA if applicable.
Good luck with Micro! I am sure everything will work out. I scored well on the TEAS science so I am hoping the same thing as you.
KathyR said:What did your GPA, Prerequisite grades, and TEAS look like? If you do not mind me asking!
I scored 88.7% on the TEAS with a 3.3 GPA.
I have a C in A&PI and A&PII, B in Micro, A in English, and an A in Stats.
- 3.1 cumulative GPA
- 3.67 science GPA
- 83% TEAS test
- Reading: 80.9%
- Math: 93.8%
- Science: 76.6%
- English and Language Usage: 75.0%
My Cumulative GPA was a 3.1, mostly due to taking and not completing (a.k.a failing) 2 history classes 10 years prior when I was in highschool doing parallel enrollment. I got an A in almost every prereq. The two failing grades from 10 years ago remained on my transcript when I was accepted. Never had to retake them.
My science GPA was stronger, which is what I was told they care more about (micro, and A&P 1&2). I got an A in micro, A in A&P 1 and B in A&P 2. I had to retake A&P 1 and got an A after initially getting a D due to a death in the family 2 weeks before finals. If you are not accepted, retake the A&P classes to bring your science GPA up.
Hopefully that will be unnecessary and you'll get in!

I know you said questions about the program but do you think they look at the CCBC GPA only when the overall is lower? my overall is only a 2.9 and my CCBC is a 3.45? Do you know any one who got in with a lower GPA?

Thank you for your answer! Wow you did a great job. By any chance did you hear of anyone getting in the program with All C's ?
the lash question ! What were the hours for the Fall program ?
If I do not get accepted which I'm praying that's not the case, I guess I'll retake those courses. It has taking me so long to finally get here, I am definitely nervous because I heard is competitive.

No idea if external or internal gpas are weighed independently. I think the hard cutoff for cgpa is 2.7 or something. CCBC shows the hard cutoff on their website. I didn't poll everyone in my cohort but from the folks I talked to my cgpa at 3.1 was def on the lower side. I know lots of people did well on the TEAS and science classes. (>80% TEAS and >3.0 science GPA)
Edit: cgpa needs to be 2.5

I have not heard of anyone getting in with all C's. The hard cutoff for acceptance is a 2.7-something (I think) so you would have to have some A's/B's sprinkled in somewhere. Even then, its a competitive program so barely meeting the requirements will mean that your app might not be competitive.
Hours for day program I am unsure of. For weekend option first semester it was a 1 credit class Monday, nursing funds tues/thurs, human assessment weds, and clinicals on the weekends.
6pm-9pm or so is what I remember for each class. Clinicals are heavily instructor dependent with a start time of 6-7am and ending anywhere from 11am to 2pm.
Edit: cgpa needs to be 2.5

Hi, I actually emailed the academic advisor at CCBC with this exact question. He said "The Nursing program has two GPA requirements. You over all CCBC GPA (2.0) that is classes completed at CCBC only. Prerequisites GPA (2.5) that is the program (10) prerequisites.”

HI! I have all A's and B's and one C for the program prerequisites. But my TEAS score is 61.3% overall and 71% for reading. Do you think that it's possible that I would get admission?

I have no idea. Depends on if they have a hard cutoff for TEAS and the competitiveness of applications this cycle.
I think its safe to say we are all just concerned about if our stats are good enough for admission, at the end of the day, it is a competition! I've heard of them accepting advanced TEAS score when GPA was low, and lower TEAS scores when GPA was high! I guess that makes sense. We can only hope the competition isn't too steep for this cycle.. which may be true since they pushed the deadline back. I'm hoping we all get good news sooner than later.
