I'd like to know if anyone knows of any LVN to RN bridge programs or Straight ADN programs within driving distance of Sacramento.

I'm an LVN and all my prereqs are complete- or will be complete in 2 weeks (-; I'm really bummed out that the application process has changed to once per year. I really don't want to wait until next Spring to apply to Sac City or ARC.

If there are any schools you know if that gave an application period or start date sooner than Fall of next year, I'd love to hear about them.

Thank you!

Does anyone know of a community college near Sacramento that offers an LVN to RN bridge program or a regular ADN program that has 2 application periods per year?

I know there nothing in Sacto, but I'm willing to drive to the Bay or elsewhere....

This forum doesn't get as much traffic, I think. )-:

I've recently applied to Los Medanos in Pittsburg, City College of SF and Mission College in Santa Clara. All 3 have application periods in the Spring, and CCSF also has another one in the Fall. All are lottery-based selection. I know Mission College has their own LVN-RN program with 30 seats (not like many ADN programs that admit on a space available basis). I'm currently STILL waiting for their decision letter that had an application deadline in FEBRUARY. Supposedly letters were mailed out Friday but I'm in Sac and haven't received anything yet. I was accepted into Los Medanos program in the Fall :woot:. I believe their LVN-RN is space available basis. I thought I didn't stand a chance when I was #15 on the alternate list, when I received a call about an approved grant that made space for me. Apparently in a pool of 37 LVN applicants, 30 were drawn and ALL put on an alternate list. With additional funding they made phone calls to each person in order of priority. Try looking into them, it doesn't seem like they have a large pool to select from, and I got in on my first try. At City College SF, they randomly select the order to which all applications are processed and look at applicants until 50 seats are filled. I was literally the 50th applicant, but because I didn't submit every single transcript from ALL the schools I attended, my application was disqualified.:bored: I didn't submit transcripts from schools that I only took 1 class from or weren't pre-reqs for their program, but it seems they have some kind of database (Financial Aid?) that allows them to find out. So if you apply there, keep that in mind. Hope this helps!
