Commissioning Process Reserve to AD

I was wondering if someone could tell me how the process would work. I am currently in the Army Reserve (enlisted) and am submitting a packet for commissioning on Active Duty. If my packet gets approved, will I get commissioned when I find out, or do I still wait till I get to OBC. I know it takes a while to get orders to OBC, but I will still be drilling with a Reserve unit. Does anyone know how this would work? I tried to ask my Recruiter, but they were less than helpful.

Once you get approved by the commissioning board you have to wait for your congressional order to come down before you are sworn in as a Commissioned Officer. Your name will show up on the list, but you still have to wait for orders. Once you've been commissioned you will then be put in for OBLC. I only had to wait less than a week before my recruiter scheduled my swearing in and contract signing from the time he called and told me I was selected. As for the OBLC wait time I don't know. I've read on here where some people were selected right away and others waited months. I'm not part of that because I'm a Reservist. Since you're already on Active status it may go faster for you or it may be just the same as everyone else. I hope you get selected quickly and are able to go through to OBLC soon after!!! When you go on active duty you are not sworn in until 72 hours before you go on active duty/OBLC.

Actually, you can be sworn in with your recruiter anytime after you have been selected. However, you will sign your oath again your first day at OBLC.
