I know this forum isn't overly active, but I just wanted to say I'm starting my brand new career in psych!
I was hired for a job in an inpatient forensic psych hospital that specializes in rehabilitating people who are deemed incompetent to stand trial.
I'm excited and nervous and a little bit scared, but mostly happy that I found the courage to go where I wanted to be.
Wish me luck!
I took a lot to walk away from my guaranteed tele gig (which I hated the very idea of), but hopefully I'll have zero regrets.
This is very encouraging, especially to me since I too am walking away from a guaranteed job. I am glad to know I am not the only one

Thanks everyone! I think it's a niche where I'll learn a lot about a lot of things...legal and psychiatric...which is right up my alley! I took a lot to walk away from my guaranteed tele gig (which I hated the very idea of), but hopefully I'll have zero regrets.
Tbbtpeach, I'll update ya on what I do when I get through orientation and have a better idea!
