Hello everyone. Just applied for the nursing program at Columbus State C.C. Signed up right at midnight on January 5th. Just wondering when I will be able to know when I will start the program. They said they will mail us when they know, but it's been bugging me when i will actually start. Thanks..

I also just applied, but I thought the application did not open until 9:00 AM on the 6th? If that's true... I guess I wasn't as quick applying as I thought.

I didn't know you could apply on the 5th either. I couldn't even get into the application till 9am. Maybe that is why my confirmation number was 652.

Did you apply to the traditional program? You should expect a decent wait. My best friend applied in January 2009 and she doesn't get to start until March 2011!! There is a long wait list typically for the traditional program.
I got fed up and decided to relocate to Cleveland because I can start in August of this year!
Let me know what you find out - I'm curious to know if the wait list has changed at all since two years ago!!

I thought I would pass along a little of the information I was told.
First of all, the application period didn't open for the traditional program until 9:00 am on the 6th. I would check to make sure you actually submitted an application. The women in the Nursing Department have been wonderful in answering questions.
I was told that in the first 5 minutes that the application period was open there were over 130 applications submitted. I believe there are around 110 slots available. Once the application period closes (I think it's sometime next week, I didn't go back to check) they will begin reviewing the applications to make sure that everyone has all of their requirements and that their NET scores are acceptable. Once that has been completed, then they will begin to send out acceptance letters. -- Marchish was the impression I received when I was calling on another matter.
I think that somehow they'll also have to go through those who applied to the online program and to the traditional.
I also am not certain, but it sounds like if you do not make the numerical cut for Fall 2010, they might be offering a spot in Spring 2011, but honestly am not sure how that works.
It's a crazy process and I still don't quite understand how a fast internet connection is the measure of a good student.
I am starting to consider cotc because I think it is easier to get in. There is talk that they are expanding their campus in Pataskala and hopefully they will expand the nursing program there too.
Yeah, i meant January 6th at 9am. Not sure why i said the 5th.. I was hitting refresh about every 5 seconds, and once the application came up, i was in. I guess i'll just keep waiting then. Thanks everyone
I was told there were 140 spots... and if there were 143 applicants (for example) there might be room made. The screen that told you your confirmation number... was just that... a confirmation number. It was not something saying what number you were in line.
That many slots? Oh I sure hope so.
I have a transcript issue I'm still working on correcting, but it should be fixed next week and the school is aware and is just waiting on stuff from my previous college. Hopefully that will be corrected without a problem and I will be put back with my correct date/time stamp.
