  1. The film Chasing Zero makes you think about how quickly a serious medication error can be made and about the devastating consequences.

  3. As a new nurse... thank you! We were told the first year would be difficult; that turned out to be an understatement. We (new nurses) really do want to work hard, and believe me I am working hard. It does take me longer to critically think through things that you have critically thought through dozens/hundreds of times. To those of you who have supported us, trust me when I say we appreciate you!
  4. I graduated from CSCC in Columbus, Ohio. As some fine print, my goal was not to say a BSN is not valuable. Instead it was for those who might assume an ADN/ASN nurse has not taken stats/chem/whatever. I am currently working on a BSN at OSU.
  5. Just to help dispel the rumor... I had stats (scored VERY high) and two chem classes (don't remember exact grades, but scored an A in both)... oh and I'm and ADN-RN.
  6. I do not have any ideas for topics... but what a great idea!
  7. I find it surprising that any RN program would not have a pharmacology course. Although our pharm class was very difficult, I'm glad we have one (actually 2: pharm 1 and 2) in our program. If a program doesn't have one, pharm should be heavily woven into the program. That said I wish we had more of our pharm woven into the second half of our program... I'm afraid I might be forgetting a lot that I learned a couple quarters ago. Anyway, you might want to purchase a pharm text and self study. I'm sure you already have a lot on your plate, but it might be worth it in the end. Here's the text we used. http://www.amazon.com/Clinical-Drug-Therapy-Rationales-Practice/dp/0781777690/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1322617912&sr=1-1
  8. I understand not wanting to work in a nursing home... but if you really "do not like old people", the hospital setting might not be right for you either.
  9. If allowed water... you'd pee more... and that would simply lose productivity
  10. They're Their and There Your and You're To, Too, and Two There is a difference :)
  11. I find it interesting that everyone keeps telling suanna what she meant to say. Also I think what nurses do, does matter. Her believing she is making a difference is a good and true thing.

  13. I can't remember exactly, but I think it will change when you've been cleared to register for Nursing classes.
