Columbia Post-RN DNP Program

Thinking of applying to Columbia's AG-PCNP for Summer 2018. Anyone else applying or currently in the program? Any tips for the application or getting letters of recommendations?

Hello everyone. I was accepted into the AG-PCNP. I too am worried about cost of attendance. I didn't realize I was supposed to apply for FAFSA back in December so I did not do that. I'm waiting on another school and then I will make a decision. Does anyone know how big the cohorts are for the different specialties?

I know the cost of attendance is $1930 per credit but I couldn't find a curriculum breakdown of the amount of credits for the program. I'm guessing we still have to pay for the last year when we do the residency since we are technically still enrolled (even though we are getting paid)?

Hi Emmanem830,

If you go on the website, under "Academics" -> "Academic Program Plans," there is a sample program plan. Looks to be about 74 credits starting and then if you want to do a subspecialty like oncology or women's health then it adds on credits because of the additional courses. The last two semesters are residency with like 5 credits each semester for the seminar course you have to take. When I went to the open house with the program director, he mentioned that it was possible to negotiate for a paid residency position but this was by no means a guarantee that it will be paid. They also could not tell me how common it was to get a paid residency position.

Hope that helps. I'm planning on stopping by to speak with Financial Aid sometime this week as I also did not realize their financial aid deadline was in December.

Hope that helps! If anyone has any additional info or corrections, let me know!

I believe uts only the first year that you pay. After that your residency begins and no tuition is required for the next two years. Does anyone know if you can do a fnp/acnp at columbia?

Congratulations on everyone for getting in! I am hoping to apply to Colombia in 2019 or 2020. Where can I find the required pre-requisites for any DNP program? I scoured their website but I can't find any pre-req information. Any help is much appreciated!

Hi! I am wondering if you have been able to gather more information about Colombia's cost and wether it's true that we only pay for the first year? There's not much information regarding cost on their website..
