Columbia MDE 2022

I know the application hasn't opened yet, but wondering if there was anyone else thinking of applying to Columbia MDE/DNP programs for June 2022 entry?

Hello, Congrats to all those accepted. Are there any waitlisted people on this thread? If so, have you spoken with CUSON regarding this process? Any news when we will hear back etc?

Hi, I applied for the MDE/DNP and am waitlisted as well. I emailed (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) asking him if the waitlist would only be the MDE program or the joint MDE-DNP program. And his response was "Yes, the waitlist offer is only for the MDE program. If you were to enroll, then you could complete an internal application for the DNP program while in the MDE program."  I know its not the exact info you are looking for but thought I share.

Thanks for the info! Yes when I spoke to “admissions” they said the same which is fine by me. Though… if you look at last years thread someone claims they were  accepted off the waitlist into the MDE/DNP program. So I don’t know…Have to take everything you read on here with a grain of salt. The good news is…deposits were due yesterday so there’s a chance you can be hearing back soon! Good luck to you!

Did anyone else on the waitlist receive a decision update that the class has been closed? The email notifying me of this was sent at 8:57AM PST.

I did.. I’m devastated. Are you opting to enroll for the next cycle?

I did, but still waiting on other school decisions so whether or not I follow through with my application rollover depends on that. Didn't expect the waitlist to close so early for Columbia, so when I got the email this morning I really had a feeling it was good news

Aw, same for me too. My heart was beating so fast when I got the email. The last month of waiting has felt like forever. And now even though it wasn't the news I was hoping for, I'm glad the wait is over.

I'm still thinking about whether or not I want to opt to enroll for the next cycle. But I do think it would be a good idea for me to schedule a meeting with them to talk about my application and how it can improve.

For those that received the same message as I did above (the one about CUSON's MDE Waitlist being closed), did your newest status update/application rollover waiver disappear? I only see my status update from 2/2 now.

Yes, I had three messages in the portal, but there's currently only one left from 2/2. The last message from 3/10 had the survey link that had the option to rollover our application for the next cohort. They only gave us two weeks to complete it and since it's been over two weeks, I figured that's why they removed it.

I will be applying for Summer 2023 and was wondering if there's anyone willing to discuss more in depth what your application process was like? How you structured the essay topics, prepared for the video essay etc.
