Hi,
I plan on applying for the anesthesia program at Columbia and I wanted to know how the background of those that have been accepted look like to see if I'm even competitive enough apply.
Thanks!
hey all,
i don't drink but i'd love to join you for a drink (mine being coke) at some point before or after the visiting day.
i also wanted to write this because last year i was absolutely devastated when i didn't get in anywhere (including columbia). do not give up, especially if you were waitlisted. i wanted this more than i wanted to breathe and if it's your calling to be a nurse keep plugging at it, reapply!!! last year i read something along these lines and thought how easy and shallow it was for the person to say when they got in but later it echoed in my head and was a main factor in why i reapplied and now i'm in. never give up! i'm saying a prayer for everyone who wanted this so much that it kept them up nights and didn't get in- i know your pain. i will be praying for each of you.
blessings!

hey all,
i created a group on facebook.com for the etp program.
I have heard that you can, but I don't know where that info is on the Columbia website. I'm not sure if you have to re-apply to your master's specialty at that point, or if they hold a place for you in the next class. I know that for anesthesia, it is actually required that you take a year off to get ICU experience. In that case, your space is reserved in the CRNA class.

I have been following this thread for a while and am finally ready to jump in- everyone is so supportive and I want to wish you all Congratulations! and also to those wait-listed, there is hope!
I was accepted to the Women's Health specialty and I currently live in midtown. I would love to join you all for a drink to celebrate and discuss. I might also be looking for a room mate if I don't move further uptown. My current room mate is moving in with her boyfriend in a couple months. NYC is not cheap, but its doable I believe if you are strategic.
I would be more than happy to answer any NYC questions for those considering the move, I am originally from Northern California so the East Coast was an adjustment!
