Hello,

Has anyone applied to Columbia's MS in Nurse Anesthesia program (2021) ?

I received an acceptance email last night as well! Just joined this facebook group. Looking forward to meet you all!

I see 1 person got a call for the waitlist on this thread. Anyone else?

I did too. Anyone have any more info on how this works and what the chances are?

Seems like official calls and e-mails have gone out. Thank you to everyone that has helped make this process clearer and shared advice without hesitation. To those who did not get an acceptance letter, I am in the same boat. I thought I nailed the interview. I only have 22 months of ICU experience and I'm assuming that worked against me. They definitely look for experienced critical care nurses--keep this in mind when applying next year. Remember: what is meant to be shall be.

This is not the end. Continue to strive for excellence. If you truly want this, you will not give up. There is a spot out there waiting for you!

Best wishes to all the hard working future CRNAs.

Have those people that got put on the waitlist heard anything?

In past years, very few have been taken off the waitlist. If you haven’t heard anything, you can contact the school for tips to improve your application for next year.

Not a prob! Feel free to PM me if anyone has any questions. Good luck to you all! ❤️

Hi! I was hoping to apply to Columbia's MSN/DNP program in the next year or so. Would you mind sharing the stats you had when you applied? I'd like to gauge how competitive I am!

I have one year of progressive care experience and 3 years of ICU experience (2 years MICU, 1 year STICU). My STICU experience is at a Level 1 Trauma Center. I'm planning to move in the next 6 months and I will be starting at new job in the CVICU (also in a Level 1 Trauma Center). I wanted to obtain a broad range of experience.

I have my CCRN and CMC certifications as well as my TCRN. 16hrs of CRNA shadowing completed. I had hoped to do much more but COVID had other plans! ? I am also a member of my unit's Safety Committee.

I graduated my BSN with a 3.56 GPA. I am in the process of taking Chem 1, Chem 2, and O Chem, as they were not required for my original BSN. I am also planning on taking refresher courses in A&P, Pharmacology, Microbiology, and possibly Stats. Hoping to increase my GPA in the process!

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

can anyone else share their stats and anything regarding pre reqs? thank you!

In my experienced and feed back with Columbia....they do not like to see reference letters from MDs.  I was told this was a red flag by Dr. Massie.  Even if you have amazing stats, reference letters from MDs will not get you an interview...After multiple years of applying and learning the hard way...either way I'm glad I got into a different program because Columbia is just not that organized as it used to be.  Good luck everyone!

I know the class of 2024 has probably started already, how are you guys liking it? Any tips for those of us about to start the application process?

Does anyone know when the application for 2022 will open?

I just looked online again and it doesn't give me the option to select the program! It says at the top that the 2022 cycle should be available by mid-June but no luck yet! I was going to send them an email!
