Hello everyone!!! I am so excited to be applying this year. I've worked so hard to get my index score of 26.99. I told my husband if I'm not accepted with that score I'm causing a riot! Lol
I heard the cut off last year was 25.6 or something close to it. I know my score is good but I worry because I have heard so many horror stories of people not getting in. I was always under the impression admission was based purely on the assessment score and that they take the top 50. But my sister works with two women who both applied. One did not get in and had a slightly higher index score than the other.
Does anyone know more about how they choose?
Hello. I am applying as well this year. My index score is 26.675. I did apply last year and had an index score of 25.6 and was waitlisted. I retook my TEAS and Eng 101 to up my index score this year. So now I am just going to worry til May. I do have a friend that got in this last fall with a 25.9.
So maybe its just my laptop or the self-assessment tool on CBC's website is not working. So if I correctly figured my index score is 26.525. Even though the common thought seems to be if you are over a 26 you should be OK, I am still nervous until I see a letter. I only applied to CBC, and have been waiting a very long time to apply so praying I get in. Good luck everybody!
The head of nursing said it is score based... I wonder if she failed to get something in correctly... such as transfer in credits that were transfered with a letter score that was put in based on CBCs letter to GPA ratio which dropped the score... Or information given... or even a failure to properly put in information done by the nursing administrators.... You just never know, but if that had been me I wouls have caused a major stink until they gave me the reason!
Hello, I'm Jaymz. I have an index score of 28.7. 4.0 in major classes 87.3 on teas and completion of all prereqs (i am also an EMT through CBC so i get the 2 points.) To say I'm nervous is an understatement. I am petrified of CBC messing up the application process or something. Being the nervous wreck that i am, I called to verify my information and found out that my address was entered wrong from my application. Might be a good idea to call and verify that they received the info and that they have it correct.
Jaymz, who did you call to verify? I am going to do the same thing. I was so nervous turning my application in because it seemed so simple! I really hope nothing goes wrong.
Good luck everyone! Seems like everyone on this thread has pretty competitive scores. Chances are we will all make it together! Fingers crossed, knock on wood! í ½í¸‚

I figure it is about time to start a thread for all of those who are applying to the 2018 Nursing program at Columbia Basin College so that we can have mental meltdowns together come May while we impatiently await the letter in the mail that will tell us our fates!...
Let the games begin!
