Collin College RN ADN Fall 2018

Published

Hello everyone!

I am applying to the RN program here at collin for fall 2018 semester. and was hoping to start a new thread for others also applying for Fall 2018. I am currently in AP2 and micro and just took my PSB today! We are still 4 months out and the anticipation is killing me. Curious what other peoples stats are! My PSB ones are below. Some areas I didnt do great in, but I was told the areas I scored 90's in are ones they look at especially! Odd, I would think they would look at Science but was told its not as important of a factor.

AR- 75

NE- 99

AA- 91

SP- 75

RC- 94

INS- 70

VAI- 94

Bio-B

Ap1- B

AP2 & Micro currently taking but on strong road for definite B's, maybe an A in micro!

Good luck everyone! I hope to meet some new people and make some friends!

By the way, did you turn in just the acceptance form or both acceptance and eligibility form?

I turned in the acceptance form only

I only turned in the acceptance form. I assumed we would do the rest during orientation. Hopefully I'm right, but it sounds like most people only turned in the acceptance form.

My education coordinator through my job said we should go over the other stuff in our letter at orientation. Maybe that's part of reason we need laptops on Friday. Also, I'm betting we will get emails regarding finger printing after acceptance forms are turned in (today).

If anyone wants to exchange phone numbers so we can help each other let me know.

I was thinking maybe we could start a Facebook group for our cohort?

I actually just made a Facebook group. I think you should be able to find it if you search Collin College Nursing Fall 2018. Hope you all join!!

Thanks for making a group!

Hello everyone! I am trying to get into the Spring Program! But I registered for my PSB exam today! for August 14th, 2018 and I wanted to know what's the best way to study for it! Is there a website, book or flashcards that work?? I def need the practice! I have an A in A&P1, a B+ in A&P2 and I plan on taking Micro this fall 2018! any suggestions on good professors?

Thanks!

Bianca, I purchased the Mometrix book for the PSB. It's available on Amazon. It has some practice questions in it. I practiced at home and timed myself. The time is what will get you in this test. The book explains the different sections for you. Just be aware the spelling is really difficult, IMO. The book was not at all indicative of the actual exam in that area. Also, I had some physics questions in my science section, so make sure you review all the natural sciences stuff in the book.

Bianca,

I also used the mometrix book to study. But, truth be told, I didn't find the test to be something to panic too much about. You have good grades. Most of the information is pretty basic. Brush up on your algebra, general science information, etc. I agree the spelling section was a bit on the challenging side but don't stress out too much. The more stress and pressure the more you'll get hung up on questions and time truly is of the essence!!

Good luck!

Hello,

I am applying for the Spring 2019 semester. I took the PSB today but I couldn't find any information on how to convert the score to the points system. Can some one help me out? I have all A's in A&P1, A&P2 and Micro. My PSB score is not as good as I have hoped.
