Hey everyone I haven't seen a forum for this one yet and decided to create one.
Sam_1 said:Wow, Jessica, you have terrific stats! I double-checked your math, and it seems about right. With the Microbiology grade, I would assume a 24-point score is pretty competitive.
Salted pineapple: That's a fantastic TEAS score! What did you use to prep for it?
Do we need any recommendation letters or anything like that to help? I looked at the application, and it says it's not allowed.
Also, I am taking Microbiology currently and recently discovered that they are scoring it like A&P 1 and 2. It's a bummer that I'll have to wait a semester, but we will see.
No recommendation letters or essays or anything. They just asked some basic info, then you upload unofficial transcripts. It was a very simple process - I wish all nursing applications were this stress-free!
@SaltedPineapple where did you take Microbiology? My professor wasnt that good. I have not met many good professors. I hope Collin professors are good!
My score is about 24.8. My TEAS is 88. TEAS isn't so high but I didn't wanna study anymore.

Collin I want to say is M-TH 8:30am-4:30pm which kind of steered me away and I applied to other schools too because I work night shift and I have no choice but to work
Sam_1 said:Oh really, is that so? I heard some people are buying all sorts of TEAS packages, so I was curious. Is it like basic knowledge for reading and writing? Also, how is the math section?
A 98 in Micro is fantastic! Oh yes, Micro is easier and more fun than A & P 2.
So, applications are strictly based on the point system. Many people in my Micro class are applying for this Fall. I doubt they would get it because they would lack 5 points provided they get an A in Micro and 1 point for pre-reqs completed.
What works for me might not work for others I refused to spend money ? that money went towards my applications
@Jessica Tilton Wow, thank you so much. So it seems like they put all classes in one day + 1 day of clinical + 1 lab course (for semester 1). Yes, it seems doable.

On their website they said to plan for 15 hours of studying each week. If we've only got class/clinicals 3 days per week, that is basically a 40 hour week, which is perfect. Other programs I've seen look like they expect 60 hours per week, and I just don't have that to give!
Anyone know if we can check on the status of our applications?

I emailed when I submitted like 3 weeks ago and she never emailed back. I was trying to make sure they received my documents and that I wasn't missing anything.

I did a search for Collin college ADN on facebook and found someone that way. ?. I messaged them out of the blue and thankfully she responded. If you have any specific questions I could ask her and see if she responds.
I don't know anyone personally who is in the program. If you find out anything, I'm sure we'd all be eager to hear what you learn.
Any idea on when acceptance/rejection letters go out? It looks like last year it was July, but they had a later application deadline too..

Okay thank you for the info! Do you think you can refer me to the people you contacted? Deadline for the application is March 1st, and we have to wait 4-6 weeks to get a response!

We should hear back no later than may.
