Collin College Fall 2020 Application

Published

Hi guys, I was planning on applying to the summer term at Collin, but at the most recent nursing info session, Ms. Rangel noted that they are getting rid of the summer term. Another change being implemented is they're doing away with the PSB and now incoming students must take the TEAS. So, that changes a lot for me. I missed the deadline to apply for the spring term as all the PSB slots were full, but I would have been applying with micro in progress as that's what I'm taking in the fall term. Anyone else planning on applying for Fall 2020?

I am applying to the spring 2020 term! If I don’t get accepted, I will be applying for fall 2020 as well.

Those are great!

I applied last year when I still had micro in progress and did not get accepted. When I applied the first time I had a C in A/P 1, which I retook and now have an A. They say retakes look bad, which is why I’m so nervous! Current stats are:

GPA-4.0

AP1- A

AP2- A

Micro- A

PSB percentiles

VE- 60

AR- 97

NE - 84

AA-88

SP- 38 (oops)

RC- 91

INS- 90

VAI- 71

Good luck everyone!!

Your stats are great too! I wouldn't worry too much about your retake. When I went to the information session, they said that big jumps are fine. They don't like to see when you go from a C to B to an A. You had a big jump, so I think you have a great chance of getting in this time. How long did it take for them to send your letter out after the deadline? Good luck everyone!

Thank you! And it took about 4 weeks, they sent it really fast. I have a friend that applied last semester and she received her letter 3.5 weeks after their deadline. So hopefully they will be just as quick this application cycle too!

Are the slots for the PSB exam full for the spring 2020 term?

Yes, and the application period has already closed as of 8/31/19. I believe applications for fall 2020 are due in January. At the most recent info session, mrs rangel announced that Collin college will begin using the TEAS test instead of the PSB from now on. Info should be updated on Collins site early next month.

Does anyone know how important cumulative GPA is? I have a 4.0 science GPA and 3.75 in the co reqs but my overall cumulative is 2.6 ? I had a rough start many years ago.
